Select observation radius

A larger radius and more observations may cause a longer load time. Start with a closer radius and use your browser back button to come back and adjust if you want to see more.

Can't see anything? Here are some things to try!

  • Make sure you have a good mobile or wifi connection.
  • iOS: Make sure you are using Safari and click Allow when asked to access the camera and the motion and orientation.
  • iOS: Under: Settings - Privacy - Location Services, Safari Websites, choose: While Using.
  • iOS: if you get a Webcam Error message, go to: Settings - Safari - Camera and set to Ask or Allow.
  • Android: Make sure you are using Chrome and click Allow when asked to access the camera.
  • Android: Under: Settings - Apps - Chrome - Permissions, make sure Location is turned on.
  • Time: if there are a lot of observations, it could take a little time. Be patient and wait up to 30 seconds to see if spheres appear around you.
  • Location: If you can't see anything, it could be that there are no observations under a kilometer radius. It could also be that there are too many things nearby and it is taking too long to load.  To check if there are observations around you can check the iNaturalist map and click on the current location icon.
