The Last Supper

What if issues caused by gluttony and greed (colonization, mass apiculture and agriculture) were brought to light by a last supper with foods that would disappear without pollination?

My inspiration with the edibles was a reflection on how we could access certain foods and flavours in a post-bee world. I turned to the futurist cooking manifesto. Written by the painter Marinetti in the 30s in Italy, the manifesto proposed a new approach to eating which was focused on small bites of food eaten without utensils and on multisensory and evocative experiences.

The Last Supper consists in a deconstruction of flavours, textures and appearance of foods that would  vanish without pollination, served in wax bowls created in collaboration with bees. These are accompanied by still life photos of food necessitating pollination.
